RAID: Configure Virtual Disk with storcli64 and add hot spare 2021-09-10 09:59:48

storcli64 /c0 add vd type=raid10 drives=8:12,13,14,15 pdperarray=2

The command above creates a new virtual disk with RAID10 type, where EID of the drives is 8 and Slot numbers are 12,13,14,15.
(the EID:Slt data can be seen in storcli64 /c0 show command)

pdpearray=2 means that the disks will be paired in 2.

storcli64 /c0/e8/s16 add hotsparedrive dgs=3

The command above adds a hot spare dedicated to virtual disk 3. The /c0/e8/s16 data can be acquired from storcli64 /c0 show command and points to the drive. The drive states either in hotspare and new virtual disk creation operation should be in Ugood
(Unconfigured Good) state. If you like to add disk as global hot spare, just remove dgs=3 part.
